History
Join us on a journey through our company history. Since our founding as an innovation project of the PERI Group, we have recognized 3D construction printing technology as a disruptive force for the construction industry and have been working hard every day to bring the technology to the modern construction site on a large scale.
2015

Project founding
Establishment of an innovation project within the PERI Group with the aim of identifying disruptive and innovative technologies and using them in the construction industry.

3D printing identified as a disruptive technology
Potential of 3D printing identified and initial concepts for the construction industry developed.
2018

First own printing attempts
Started my first own printing attempts.

Investment in Danish manufacturer COBOD as a minority shareholder
Strategic partnership with COBOD, a leading manufacturer of 3D construction printers.
2019

First public presentation of 3D construction printing
At bauma 2019, we will be presenting the possibilities of 3D construction printing for construction for the first time.
2020

First 3D printer
COBOD BOD2 sold
Regional precast concrete manufacturer is the first to rely on PERI 3D Construction.
First 3D-printed residential building in Germany
In Beckum, we realized Germany's first 3D-printed residential building. This two-story single-family home with rounded walls demonstrated the market readiness of the technology and successfully completed all regulatory approvals.
Largest 3D-printed apartment building in Europe
In Wallenhausen, we built Europe's largest 3D-printed apartment building. The three-story building with five apartments and 380 square meters of living space demonstrates the practical feasibility of 3D printing for large-scale residential construction.
2021
Market entry in the USA with the Habitat project
In Tempe, Arizona, we completed our first US project: a 160 m² single-family home. With a print time of 45 hours, it set new standards and was occupied in early March 2022.
First 3D-printed building in Austria
In Hausleiten, we built Austria's first 3D-printed building—a 125 m² office building for Strabag. Printed within 45 hours, it was occupied shortly thereafter.
World's first residential building extension in
3D printing process
In Lindau, we added a floor to an existing residential building using 3D printing for the first time. This innovative project demonstrates new possibilities for sustainable densification in residential construction.

Awarded the German Innovation Prize
Recognition for the pioneering nature of 3D printing in construction for the project in Beckum 2020.
2022

Spin-off as
PERI 3D Construction GmbH
Spin-off as PERI 3D Construction GmbH, since then a 100% subsidiary of the PERI Group
First multi-story building built using a 3D printer in the USA
Print of an architecturally sophisticated entrance sculpture
In Houston, we implemented the first multi-story 3D-printed building in the United States. With 400 square meters of living space, it demonstrates the technology's potential for constructing larger residential units.
In Dornstadt, we realized an innovative entrance sculpture with overhangs that serves as an architectural highlight and parcel distribution center for 200 apartments.

Daily 3D printing of a tiny house at bauma 2022
For the first time, printing took place live at bauma in front of a large audience.
2023
Launch of the PERI
3D MATCONTROL assistance system
With our new sensor solution for construction sites, we create continuous monitoring of material properties, thus making it easier to get started with 3D building printing.
Europe's largest 3D-printed building: The Wavehouse in Heidelberg
The 54-meter-long, wave-shaped IT commercial building in Heidelberg is Europe's largest 3D-printed building. After 170 hours of printing, Heidelberg IT moved in in January 2024.

Europe's first 3D-printed public building
In Nordkirchen, we printed a new clubhouse for the SC Capelle football club. Funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, this project sets new standards as the first public building printed with this printer.
Germany's first publicly subsidized apartment building
In Lünen, we built the first publicly funded apartment building using 3D printing. The state minister personally handed over the funding approvals for this groundbreaking construction project.
2024

Switzerland's first 3D-printed building completed
Switzerland has its first 3D-printed building! Holcim Switzerland, together with PERI 3D Construction, created a 150 m² showroom with 6.2-meter-high, curved walls for Kobelt AG. The printing took just 55 hours over eight working days.
