History

Join us on a journey through our company history. Since our founding as an innovation project of the PERI Group, we have recognized 3D construction printing technology as a disruptive force for the construction industry and have been working hard every day to bring the technology to the modern construction site on a large scale.

​First 3D-printed residential building in Germany

In Beckum, we realized Germany's first 3D-printed residential building. This two-story single-family home with rounded walls demonstrated the market readiness of the technology and successfully completed all regulatory approvals.

Largest 3D-printed apartment building in Europe

​In Wallenhausen, we built Europe's largest 3D-printed apartment building. The three-story building with five apartments and 380 square meters of living space demonstrates the practical feasibility of 3D printing for large-scale residential construction.

Market entry in the USA with the Habitat project

In Tempe, Arizona, we completed our first US project: a 160 m² single-family home. With a print time of 45 hours, it set new standards and was occupied in early March 2022.

First 3D-printed building in Austria

In Hausleiten, we built Austria's first 3D-printed building—a 125 m² office building for Strabag. Printed within 45 hours, it was occupied shortly thereafter.

World's first residential building extension in
3D printing process

​In Lindau, we added a floor to an existing residential building using 3D printing for the first time. This innovative project demonstrates new possibilities for sustainable densification in residential construction.

First multi-story building built using a 3D printer in the USA

Print of an architecturally sophisticated entrance sculpture

In Houston, we implemented the first multi-story 3D-printed building in the United States. With 400 square meters of living space, it demonstrates the technology's potential for constructing larger residential units.

In Dornstadt, we realized an innovative entrance sculpture with overhangs that serves as an architectural highlight and parcel distribution center for 200 apartments.

Launch of the PERI
3D MATCONTROL assistance system

With our new sensor solution for construction sites, we create continuous monitoring of material properties, thus making it easier to get started with 3D building printing.

Europe's largest 3D-printed building: The Wavehouse in Heidelberg

The 54-meter-long, wave-shaped IT commercial building in Heidelberg is Europe's largest 3D-printed building. After 170 hours of printing, Heidelberg IT moved in in January 2024.

Europe's first 3D-printed public building

In Nordkirchen, we printed a new clubhouse for the SC Capelle football club. Funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, this project sets new standards as the first public building printed with this printer.

Germany's first publicly subsidized apartment building

​In Lünen, we built the first publicly funded apartment building using 3D printing. The state minister personally handed over the funding approvals for this groundbreaking construction project.

Switzerland's first 3D-printed building completed

Switzerland has its first 3D-printed building! Holcim Switzerland, together with PERI 3D Construction, created a 150 m² showroom with 6.2-meter-high, curved walls for Kobelt AG. The printing took just 55 hours over eight working days.

Development of the DREIHAUS building concept

DREIHAUS is a modular, 3D-printed, multi-family housing concept based on 15 completed projects. It enables cost-efficient, sustainable construction starting at €2,900 per square meter – completely ready for occupancy. Developed by Mense-Korte and PERI 3D Construction.
